EDITORIAL
With a direct qualification to the next World Cup in 2010, Portugal has become a fantastic 5th place in FIFA World Rankings this month of December 2009. It is noteworthy that position if we consider the size of the country and its population, but also to its overall size in terms of football, just as we have just over 140 000 players Länder. The expression of the international "Football in Portugal" is thus indicative of the quality of their players and the competence of its trainers. However, our small size in global terms puts the various obstacles, such as the difficulty in publishing and disseminating knowledge on the mode, which is produced in our country for many students, researchers and trainers. Thus, it is with great pleasure that we have received numerous contributions by Portuguese authors, who come into this magazine the trainer an opportunity to publicize what they are producing in their daily activity. And this is one of the major objectives that led to the creation of this publication. Another major objective is the creation of links between coaches that are expressed in Portuguese, creating a real speaking community. At this level, following the increasing number of signatures we received from all countries where they speak the "language of Camões", we are also able to include the first article of an employee in Brazil. In this case on an issue as important as "The fundamentals of the action of the goalkeeper," written by Adriano Soares. We refer to this purpose, we choose to leave the article in its original form in "Portuguese in Brazil." At first, the reading may seem "something strange" to some of our readers in Portugal. However, moving towards an agreement in full spelling, I think that gradually we are also approaching the football culture in both countries. In fact, we believe that more is less strange when we heard a coach to refer to the "defender" when he speaks of the "central defender" or "keeper", when referring to the "goalkeeper". In this issue, we will then highlight the theme "training of goalkeepers, with three articles from reputable authors. Featured also always helpful to an article on the guidelines that should lead to the weekly level of physical fitness training, as well as items that depict the realities at the level of football in Holland and England. In a project to grow daily, we will soon return with more news in the next edition d 'coach.
